Falling lengths means the tiles share the same width but come in different lengths. The width is fixed, for example 20 or 30 cm, while the length varies between roughly 40 and 80 cm. Order 30 cm falling lengths and you get tiles that are all 30 cm wide but may be 45, 64 or 78 cm long.

The lengths are picked at random from production, so every delivery gets a natural spread. The variation gives the floor life and rhythm, while the fixed width holds the whole together. It is one of the most classic ways to lay limestone and marble, and it keeps waste to a minimum – both at the quarry and in your home.

For even more variation you can mix several widths, for example 20 and 30 cm in the same floor.

Natural stone is not laid like ceramic tiles. Three things your tiler needs to know:

1. Adhesive, grout and silicone must be made for natural stone. Ordinary tile adhesive can cause discolouration.
2. The floor must dry for at least 15 days after grouting before it is cleaned and sealed with Verna Protect. Underfloor heating is switched on only after that.
3. In showers the tiles are sealed before laying with Verna Pre-Protect.

Limestone and marble are easier to care for than many think. Seal the stone once it is laid, mop with a mild cleaner made for natural stone, and avoid acidic products such as lemon, vinegar and ordinary descalers. Minor marks become part of the stone’s patina over time.

Stocked items ship from our warehouse in Norrköping, Sweden, and are normally delivered within 7–10 working days. Made-to-order items are produced on order – the lead time is shown next to the format. Current stock is shown above the buy button.

Stone is delivered on a pallet to the property boundary or entrance, without carrying in. The carrier gives notice before delivery – do arrange help with unloading.

Shipping is calculated by weight and shown at checkout before you pay. For deliveries to countries outside the EU, customs handling can add a few days.
